Foxton win friendly as Aussie duo star with bat and ball

A mixed Foxton friendly team enjoyed a win in their fixture vs Cambridge University Colleges XI yesterday.

After being coerced into batting first on a wet wicket at Girton College, the Foxes made 219 before restricting the students to 140-9 at the end of their allotted 40 overs.

Top performances with the bat included Aaron McElhinney who retired not out after scoring 50 and Hayden Brown who made 47.

Brown was also effective with the ball as he picked up 4 wickets as Foxton ran out comfortable victors.

Everyone is now looking forward to the first league fixtures kicking off, the 1st team host Eaton Socon on 28th April while the 2nd team have to wait until 5th May when they host the Old Leysians.
