The 1st XI were knocked out of the Village Cup as they lost a tight match vs Ashmanhaugh and Barton Wanderers on Sunday.
Bowling first, despite the opposition making a strong start with the bat, we restricted them to 210-8 off 40 overs, captain Lewys Hill taking 6-35.
In reply, what should have been a very chaseable target was made difficult as a result of losing regular wickets througout the innings. The only player to make a score of note was Dougie Rice who played a superb knock of 100 off 101 balls. Unfortunately we were unable to get over the line, ending up 3 runs short in the chase, closing on 207-8.
Many thanks to all the supporters who came to watch and to MP Bespoke Projects for their sponsorship of our Village Cup campaign this year.
