Village Cup Result 🏆

The #1STXI are into the semi-finals of the Village Cup after a narrow win over Kent side Leeds & Broomfield.

Lewys Hill won the toss and elected to bowl on a wicket which had been undercover following heavy morning rain. Leeds got off to a flying start, with opener Davis hitting 81 from 63 balls, taking advantage of the short boundary in an opening stand of 110.

After the breakthrough, the Foxes pulled things back well, bowling the visitors out for 215.

In reply, the chase didn’t start smoothly, with two early wickets. But Kaufman (42) and Johnny Atkinson (66) steadied the innings with a key 81-run stand. After Kaufman’s dismissal, Freddie Doel added a brisk 40 to take us close, before Hill came in to finish things off, including a six in the penultimate over that landed somewhere near the White Horse pub 💣

With the scores level in the final over, the Foxes took the win by virtue of losing fewer wickets 👏
