TUCKER PREMIER DIV. 1
Khalsa 151 (34.1 overs) Foxton 106-4 (14.4 overs) (Foxton's revised target 104-8 from 34 overs due to rain interruptions)
A third consecutive success, this one at home, for Foxton now finds them third in the table. Winning the toss and deciding to bat on a firm flat surface Khalsa's openers S. Amir and M. Singh made steady progress against pacemen Miguel Cumming and the in form Jeffery Douglas. The lone Foxton early success was Singh very well caught at first slip by Douglas off Cumming for 12. T. Aziz then joined Amir and together aided by some dropped chances from the home side they pushed the score to 94. Amir then departed well caught by Tyler Deas in the deep off newly introduced spinner Tom Stone for a well crafted 34. Aziz continued to score steadily albeit slower as rain then interrupted play for nearly an hour. Shortly after the resumption Stone claimed his second wicket and Nick McLellan dismissed the dangerous Aziz for 50. This signalled a batting collapse as Antonnel Atwell and a return spell from Douglas tore into the middle and tail enders. The visitors subsided to 151 all out from 34.1 overs with Douglas clean bowling the last three to finish with 10.1-1-35-3 and Atwell with a good return of 5.1-1-13-3.
Foxton's target at the start of their innings was 152 from 54 overs and openers Max Bowen (14) returning after a break for exams and Cei Sanderson (12) gave them a solid foundation with a 20 stand. Further breaks for rain forced a recalculation and this resulted in Foxton now requiring 104-8 from 34 overs. Another stylish knock from Peter Moor with 39 not out (seven fours and a six) aided by Atwell with 16 and Adam Webster 15 not out saw Foxton ease home with 106-4 using only 14.4 overs.
Next week they face a tough challenge as they visit second placed Camden whilst the 2nd XI entertain Chesterfords.
