Spinner Adam Webster's impressive seven wicket haul in the away match at Khalsa enabled Foxton to close the gap to six points on leaders Ramsey. Fortunately winning the toss and electing to bat they were forced to shuffle the top order owing to late arrivals due to traffic problems. Nonetheless on a good surface they found runs fairly easy to come by. Cei Sanderson 61 (nine fours), Gareth Roots 37, Adam Webster, beginning a man of the match performance, 42, and skipper Peter Moor, leading the way with a swashbuckling 71 not out (seven fours, three sixes) saw them to 242-5 after only 40 overs and were then able to declare and so gained an eight over bonus. Jaspal Singh and Mandeep Singh bagged a couple of wickets each for the hosts.

Foxton's bowling attack was badly depleted by absences and they opened with off-spinner Tom Stone and slow medium paceman Mark Ferrari, but success was not forthcoming against Milaan Chand and Shaakar Mahmood who took the score to 69 without loss, with Chand being particularly severe with numerous boundaries. After eight overs Tyler Deas was introduced for a rare opportunity with the ball and in his fourth over he trapped Mahmood l.b.w. for 19. Further success followed for him with the dismissal of the dangerous Tariq Aziz caught behind by Roots for 10. Chand was third out for a bright knock of 57 (nine fours, one six), caught by Sanderson off the bowling of Stone, and Khalsa were now 96-3 in the 23rd over. The re-introduction of Webster after an opening over before tea dramatically turned the match in the visitors favour. In just 45 balls he bagged seven wickets, all caught, including three at slip by Moor, to seal a 69 run victory for Foxton as he posted the impressive return of 10.2-1-35-7. Mohammed Tayub and Arshad Shohaib were the only batsmen to show late resistance with 16 and 21 not out respectively.

With only two matches remaining the top of the league has tightened with the points tally being Ramsey 337, Godmanchester 332, Foxton 331, and long time leaders March 325, so its all to play for.

In their last fixture of the season the 2nd XI beat Babraham II by 61 runs but just finished below the promotion places. The highlight of this match came from 14-year-old Chris Hoole, opening the innings he carried his bat for a chanceless 132, the club now look forward to him challenging for a 1st XI place.
