On Saturday 8th June the 2nd team won their most recent league fixture with a convincing 9 wicket win over Newborough CC.
With a delayed start due to heavy morning rain the game was reduced to 30 overs per side. Bowling first, Steve Atherton and Matt Daniels were the pick of the bowlers taking 3/14 and 2/17 respectively as Newborough were restricted to 139-7. This total never looked enough as Lennon Lawrence and skipper Nigel Gadsby got to work in reply, putting on 57 for the first wicket, despite some aggressive seam bowling from Newborough's Parvathaneni. Lawrence fell for 26 but Hayden Brown came in at 3 and hit 46no at better than a run a ball to knock off the total within 27 overs, Gadsby ending up exactly 50no.
Unfortunately the 1st team's away fixture vs Ramsey succumbed to the weather without a ball being bowled (7 points each)
